What can I expect when I work with Lavish on my wedding invitations?
The Lavish staff will ask you to peruse our wedding portfolio and other invitation sites to gather concepts you like.  This information gives us a feel for the type of invitations you are drawn to as a place to start the design process.  However, we won’t recreate any invitations you see online.  Through the research process you may discover that the perfect invitation for you already exists.

Our staff will meet with you and review designs and sketch out some initial concepts. We will discuss a color scheme and review the types of paper and printing processes available.  These discussions will help us to generate an estimate on the cost of your invites.   Custom stationery packages range from $500 to $3000 depending on quantities and products used.

What is next?
Our staff will send you a bid for your wedding invitation set.  We are happy to review the bid with you and discuss how changes can help lower costs.  To begin the project, Lavish requires a 25% non-refundable deposit.

Next, our designers will create two stationery set options for you to review.  After you select one of the options, we will make the invitation print ready.  We offer 2 sets of revisions as part of the invitation package and additional revisions are $25 each.  We encourage you to have a few people review your invitations to catch any errors.  Getting all of your changes together at once will help our designers to make all the revisions at once and keep costs down for you!

Can you tell me about your printing options?
All digital printing is done on professional printers in our studio.  Letterpress and offset printing is done off-site.  Printing done outside of our studio may add an additional one to two weeks of time.

What if I don’t like either option?
We aim to please!  If our designers were off the mark, we will try again.  We have worked with many couples who didn’t know what they didn’t like until they saw it and we worked hard to get them the perfect invitation.  We want to create a design that is a brilliant reflection of you.

What if I see a design in the portfolio I like?
We love our portfolio of work and you may find yourself drawn to one of our wedding stationery sets.  We are happy to customize any stationery set for you and will waive the design costs.  You will receive two sets of revisions just like custom orders.

Can I get a proof of my invitations?
Once you approve the digital copy of the invitations, we will print a final proof that will be identical to the actual invitation.   If additional proofs are needed, we charge $7.00 per proof.

When should I start thinking about my invitations?
Etiquette books will tell you that you should send out your save-the-date cards 4-8 months prior to your wedding.  They also suggest that you send your wedding invitations 8 weeks prior to your wedding date.  We suggest meeting with our staff early in your wedding planning so we can get a better idea of the scope of your invitation needs and provide you a firmer idea of the timeframe to complete the project.  Some invitations are done in a week and others can take up to a month depending on number of changes and printing options.

What if my wedding is only a few months away?
We can relate!  Jen & Jeremy got engaged in July and married in November so they were in a rush to get their invitations out in time!  If you have a short timeframe, we are happy to meet with you and see if we can expedite your invites.

What is a typical bid look like?
We take into consideration the entire project and then create a bid based on a per invite cost.

Design Costs + Quantity + Papers Products+ Number of Pieces + Printing + Production + Postage = Total Cost

For example, if you need 100 invitations including an invitation, RSVP card and 3 envelopes your bid might look like this:

Design Costs = $200
Paper Products=$140
Printing=$100
Production=$200

Total cost =$640

The bid would read that each invitation was $6.40.  We charge our clients per invitation so it is easy to add or subtract invitations as needed.

What does production mean?
Production costs are involved in cutting, folding, scoring, labeling, gluing and stuffing your invitations.  This can be a lengthy process depending on how elaborate your invitation.  One way to cut costs on your invitations is to take on some of the production on their own.  However, we are happy to take all the production off your hands by assembling each invitation, labeling and mailing.
